A graduate of the renowned Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration program at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Chef Seth Mias was a veteran of the food business well before he was awarded his degree.

All along, Seth had known that he would end up in the hotel/restaurant business – but as a manager, not as a caterer. It wasn’t until 2002 that Seth saw an opportunity to launch a catering business in the Greater Northampton area, and life hasn’t been the same since!

Seth started out in the kitchen of the Northampton Country Club at age 16 – first as a cook, later as Kitchen Manager, and finally as Banquet Manager. He was eventually hired as the Assistant Manager of the Worthington Country Club, and in 2002 he joined the Elks Lodge in Florence, MA as its General Manager. In 2008 Seth Mias Catering became the exclusive caterer for the Northampton Country Club. Finally, in 2011 Seth Mias Catering returned to the Elks Lodge in Florence, back by popular demand as their exclusive caterer.

The one thing you’ll notice when you meet Chef Seth is his upbeat personality and tremendous enthusiasm for creating events that are truly special. Despite the hectic schedule of running a full-time catering operation, Seth finds time to unwind with family and friends. He particularly enjoys sampling the local area’s wide array of fine cuisine.
